Youth + Food + Community
For thirty years, The Food Project has worked at the intersection of youth development, sustainable farming and food justice.Over its history, The Food Project has created powerful growth opportunities for more than 1,800 teenagers from across eastern Massachusetts on over 30 acres of urban and suburban farmland. A recent longitudinal study showed that The Food Project’s alumni are uniquely prepared for adulthood with strong high school and college graduation rates, healthy dietary choices, community engagement skills, ability to work on diverse teams and workforce preparedness.
